Why choose Odoo?
All-in-one platform
Manage finance, sales, inventory, HR, and more within a single system.
Odoo is a comprehensive, open-source, all-in-one business management software (ERP) that integrates applications like CRM, e-commerce, accounting, inventory, and project management into a single platform. Think of it as a central system for your business. It is an all-in-one platform where your sales, inventory, manufacturing, accounting, and human resources live together in perfect sync. It is built on the same open-source foundation as Community, extended with exclusive modules, a native mobile app, Odoo Studio, and official support from both Odoo SA and certified partners.
Most growing businesses eventually hit a wall where their software can no longer keep up. You might use one tool for accounting, another for your sales team, and a third for managing your inventory. When these systems do not talk to each other, you spend more time moving data around than actually running your company.
When you enter information in one place, it instantly updates everywhere else. It is professional grade software that remains remarkably easy to use, giving you the power of a large scale enterprise system without the typical complexity.

Odoo handles the repetitive, manual tasks that currently drain your team's energy. From automated follow-ups for unpaid invoices to instant stock replenishment triggers, the system works in the background so your people can focus on high-value work.
Odoo is modular. You can start with just the apps you need today, such as CRM and Accounting, and add more as you grow. Whether you are expanding your warehouse or launching an e-commerce store, Odoo grows with you without requiring a complete system overhaul.
Stop questioning which spreadsheet has the latest numbers. With Odoo, every department works from the same data. Your sales team can see real-time inventory levels, and your accounting team can see every invoice the moment it is generated.
Odoo Studio is Enterprise’s no-code customization tool. Business teams can create custom modules, modify reports, add fields, and automate workflows using a visual drag-and-drop interface – no Python knowledge required. For departments that want to configure their own workflows without waiting for a developer, this is transformative.
Where Community offers Invoicing only, Enterprise delivers a complete double-entry accounting system: DATEV export for the German market, GoBD-compliant bookkeeping, automated bank reconciliation, multi-company consolidation, and comprehensive financial reporting. For any German company with serious accounting requirements, this alone often justifies the Enterprise investment.
Enterprise includes native smartphone apps for iOS and Android. Your field service team, warehouse staff, and management have real-time ERP access from anywhere – with offline capability and barcode scanner integration for warehouse operations.
Automated email campaigns, lead nurturing sequences, and behavioral triggers – all included in Enterprise and directly connected to CRM and sales data. No third-party marketing tool required.
Structured ticket management, SLA definition, and field service scheduling for companies providing after-sales service or technical customer support.
Quality Control, Work Center Management, the Maintenance module, and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) – for production companies whose needs go beyond basic manufacturing orders.

Odoo Enterprise is billed per user per month. The subscription includes: all Enterprise modules, cloud hosting (Odoo Online or Odoo.sh), automatic upgrades, official Odoo SA support, and security updates. No fees based on transaction volume, record count, or database size.
A common misconception: Community is free, therefore cheaper. In practice, the math is more nuanced. Developer time for custom modules, upgrade costs during major version transitions, and the expense of building equivalents for missing standard modules (accounting, mobile, Studio) frequently exceed Enterprise license costs. For organizations with 10+ users, Enterprise is often the more cost-efficient decision over a 3-year horizon.
Odoo ERP not only offers an innovative and license-free open-source solution, but also a comprehensive German Compliance.
Since version 17, Odoo Enterprise includes automated data retention workflows, versioned consent management, and granular access rights at the field level. As a data processor under GDPR, Odoo SA signs Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with Enterprise customers – a critical difference from Community, where you must document compliance independently. Odoo’s 2025 updates added AI audit logs and enhanced data deletion automation.
Odoo Enterprise can be hosted on German servers – either via Odoo.sh with an EU data center or via initos partner hosting with a German server location. This satisfies the data sovereignty requirements of many corporate policies and public-sector customers.
The German GoBD guidelines (Grundsätze zur ordnungsmäßigen Führung und Aufbewahrung von Büchern) require, among other things: immutable accounting records, complete audit trails, and tamper-proof archiving. Odoo Enterprise provides a complete audit trail system for all financial transactions. initos supplements this with GoBD-specific modules and DATEV integration upon request.
As a certified Odoo Partner, we understand the platform inside out and we understand how German companies think and operate. We guide you from initial requirements analysis through implementation to long-term operations.

Odoo is not equal to Odoo. You can choose between two different editions: the license-free Community Edition and the licensed Enterprise Edition.
However, the license costs are not the only thing that distinguishes the two editions from each other.
In the Enterprise Edition, for example, there is an app for complete financial accounting, while in the Community Edition you have to combine different apps to get the same or even more extensive functionality.
You can find a complete comparison of the functions in our blog post.

Odoo Enterprise is billed per user per month. Depending on the plan (Standard or Custom) and user count, pricing varies. The Standard plan includes all modules, cloud hosting, and support. For exact pricing for your organization, contact us directly – as a certified partner, we can structure a proposal tailored to your setup. Importantly, unlike many ERP systems, Odoo charges no fees based on transaction volume or database size.
The threshold isn’t company size, it’s requirements and strategy. The moment you need full accounting, mobile access, marketing automation, or Odoo Studio, Enterprise becomes the more efficient choice. If your processes are simple and you have strong internal IT capability, Community may remain sufficient. We recommend a requirements assessment as the first step.
Yes. Odoo Enterprise supports on-premise hosting on your own infrastructure, partner hosting (initos offers a German server location on request), and Odoo.sh with an EU data center. Your choice of hosting model does not affect the Enterprise feature set or license terms.
Odoo Enterprise provides the technical prerequisites for GoBD compliance: immutable records, complete audit trails, and change logging. However, GoBD compliance must be implemented through correct configuration and, in some cases, supplementary modules for tamper-proof archiving. initos configures Odoo Enterprise so your bookkeeping meets GoBD requirements, including DATEV export integration
Since Community and Enterprise share the same database architecture, data migration is technically straightforward. The main effort lies in making existing custom modules Enterprise-compatible and configuring the new Enterprise modules. initos runs this as a structured migration project: requirements analysis, test migration, go-live preparation, training, and hypercare support.
The Enterprise subscription includes unlimited functional support from Odoo SA (Mon–Fri, 24/5, in English, French, Spanish, or Dutch), bug fixes, and security updates. As a certified partner, initos supplements this with German-language, project-experienced support with defined response times. For critical production systems, we offer dedicated SLA packages.
Both systems target the mid-market but differ fundamentally in philosophy and cost structure. SAP Business One is a more traditional, less modular ERP with higher licensing costs and a dependency on the SAP partner ecosystem. Odoo Enterprise is modular, more open, less expensive per user, and significantly easier to customize. Many of our clients migrated from SAP Business One specifically to gain flexibility and a cleaner path to future growth.
